[EN]Mexican composer Agustin Lara (1897- 1970) was mainly a composer of songs used in movies and cabarets. It is said that Lara never learned musical notation. In total he wrote more than 700 songs. By the beginning of the 1940s, Lara was well-known in Spain and in 1965, Franco gave him a beautiful house in Granada in appreciation of his songs with Spanish themes, such as Toledo, Granada, Seville, and Madrid. Granada has become one of his most popular songs and can be sung by as well a soprano as a tenor. In this arrangement the voice part is played by a trumpet.

Insgesamt schrieb er mehr als 700 Lieder. Anfang der 1940er Jahre war Lara in Spanien bekannt, und 1965 schenkte ihm Franco ein schönes Haus in Granada als Anerkennung für seine Lieder mit spanischen Themen wie Toledo, Granada, Sevilla und Madrid. Granada ist eines seiner populärsten Lieder geworden und kann sowohl von einem Sopran als auch von einem Tenor gesungen werden. In diesem Arrangement wird der Gesangspart von einer Trompete übernommen.
