[EN]Sonata for Bassoon and Piano is in four movements. The first two are organized as a recitative and aria. The third follows the same pattern but contains both elements in the single movement. The finale is an energetic romp that gives a nod to two of my favorite composers: Poulenc and Shostakovich. The music is light-hearted and fun, but with a fierce edge.
[DE]Sonate für Fagott und Klavier besteht aus vier Sätzen. Die ersten beiden sind als Rezitativ und Arie organisiert. Der dritte Satz folgt demselben Muster, enthält aber beide Elemente in einem einzigen Satz. Das Finale ist ein energiegeladener Rausch, der zwei meiner Lieblingskomponisten zitiert: Poulenc und Schostakowitsch. Die Musik ist unbeschwert und lustig, aber mit einer scharfen Kante.
