Cubaanse muziek wordt in het algemeen erkend als een van de invloedrijkste ter wereld. De fusie van Spaanse en West-Afrikaanse muzikale tradities is hoorbaar in al haar genres die variëren van traag en sentimenteel tot snel en ritmisch. In this light and catchy composition for Concert Band that features a flute and a trumpet solo the composer gives his own homage to Cuban music with a Guajira-son that will delight both players and listeners alike.
