Centennial Fanfare is a short concert opener or prelude to a processional. The work begins with a bold percussion introduction followed by the main theme in the trumpets, followed by horns and then full brass ensemble. A lyrical second theme is punctuated by animated rhythmic motives in the winds before returning to the fanfare melody in the full ensemble. Centennial Fanfare was commissioned by Tennessee Technological University for their centennial celebration.
