Der Wiener Komponist Johann Strauss jr. (1825 - 1899) komponierte neben seinen berühmten Walzern und Operetten auch eine große Anzahl von Polkas, um mit seinem eigenen Orchester aufzutreten, das in Wien in 'Tanzsoirees' spielte. Die Pizzicato Polka entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit seinem jüngeren Bruder Josef.

The Viennese composer Johann Strauss jr. (1825 - 1899) composed besides his famous waltzes and operettas also a great amount of polka's to perform with his own orchestra that played on 'dance soirees' in Vienna. The Pizzicato Polka was composed in collaboration with his younger brother Josef.
