"Such Small Things" is a gift to the composer’s baby daughter. The sweeping ballad simultaneously celebrates the anticipation of life and the joy that her life has brought into the world. Sparkling percussion and rich harmonies in the winds make this 3-minute piece a treat for the listener.
My favorite moment every morning comes when my 4-month-old daughter, Penelope, wakes up full of smiles and optimism. The title, Such Small Things comes from a StoryPeople print that hangs in her nursery. Brian Andreas's words perfectly capture the anticipation of her arrival into this world.

ABOUT THE SERIES
The SpectraFlex Series for adaptable wind band offers flexibility with pieces across all grade levels, featuring traditional high-to-low scoring with 5 or 6 parts and optional percussion. Each part is transposed and playable by a multitude of wind or keyboard percussion instruments while maintaining the spectrum of sound we have grown to love about the wind band.
