Deze mars werd gecomponeerd tijdens de 'Sommerkurse' in de jeugdherberg Schönburg, ter gelegenheid van de verjaardag van bas- tubaïst Erich Keller. Aldaar, hoog in de bergen, werd deze mars voor het eerst vocaal (4 stemmig) uitgevoerd door de deelnemers.
