Dit is één van de meest succesrijke Britse marsen; zij werd gecomponeerd door Thomas Bidgood (1870-1925) een talentrijke muziekleraar die, naast een eigen beroepsorkest, diverse theaterorkesten en ook blaasorkesten dirigeerde. Hij componeerde heel wat lichte orkestmuziek en en vijftiental marsen waaronder 'Vimy Ridge' en 'Sons of the Brave' (1899). Deze laatste was opgedragen aan de 'Duke of York's Military School' werd voor het eerst uitgevoerd tijdens de Boer War in Zuid Afrika rond de eeuwwisseling.

This is one of the most popular British marches; it was written by Thomas Bidgood (1870-1925) a gifted music teacher who conducted his own professional orchestra, several theatre orchestras and wind bands. He composed a lot of light orchestral music and some fifteen marches, among which 'Vimy Ridge' and 'Sons of the Brave' (1899). The latter was dedicated to the 'Duke of York's Military School' and was first performed in public during the Boers War in South Africa at the turn of the century.

Voici l'une des plus populaires de toutes les marches britanniques. Elle fut composée par Thomas Bidgood (1870-1925), un professeur de musique talentueux qui dirigea, non seulement son propre orchestre professionnel, mais également plusieurs orchestres de théâtre et des orchestres à vents. Il a composé essentiellement de la musique d'orchestre légère, mais aussi une quinzaine de marches dont 'Vimy Ridge' et 'Sons of the Brave' (1899). Cette marche 'Les Fils des Braves' était dédiée à la 'Duke of York's Military School' et fut interprétée pour la première fois en 1900 au cours de la Guerre des Boers en Afrique du Sud.

'Sons of the Brave' (Die Söhne der Mutigen) ist ein ganz erfolgreicher britischer Marsch. Der Komponist Thomas Bidgood (1870-1925) war ein begabter Musiklehrer der nicht nur ein eigenes Berufsorchester sondern auch verschiedene Theater- und Blasorchester dirigierte. Er komponierte viele Unterhaltungsmusik und etwa fünfzehn Märsche, unter denen 'Vimy Ridge' und 'Sons of the Brave' (1899). Letzterer Marsch war der 'Duke of York's Militärschule' gewidmet und wurde um 1900 während des 'Boer Krieges' in Süd-Afrika uraufgeführt.
