Scarborough Fair is een traditionele Engelse ballad die de oorsprong vind in 1670. Dit werk is talloze malen bewerkt, maar door Simon and Garfunkel wereldberoemd gemaakt. Later is Scarborough Fair op een heel fraaie Celtische wijze vertolkt door Haylay Westenra (Celtic Woman). Het kleurrijke arrangement voor blazers is gebaseerd op deze laatstgenoemde versie. Dit sfeervolle werk geeft alle ruimte aan de solistische blazers in het orkest.

Scarborough Fair is a traditional English ballad that originates from 1670. This song has been arranged countless amounts of times but was made world famous by Simon and Garfunkel. In 2007, Scarborough Fair was arranged in a Celtic style by Haylay Westenra (Celtic Woman). This colourful arrangement for winds is based on her version. This atmospheric work allows your orchestra’s soloistic wind players the chance to shine.

Les transcriptions de cet œuvre sont innombrables, mais la ballade est mondialement connue grâce à Simon et Garfunkel. Plus tard, Scarborough Fair était interprétée d’une façon Celte par Hayley Westenra (Celtic Woman). L’arrangement pour vents qu’on trouve ici est basé sur cette version-là.
