Geburtsdatum: 03.02.1954
Der international anerkannte Workshopleiter Robert Sheldon lehrte Instrumentalmusik an staatlichen Schulen in Florida und Illinois und arbeitete im Fachbereich Musik an der Florida State University, wo er Dirigieren und Musikpädagogik lehrte und die Bands der Universität leitete. Sheldon machte einen B.M.-Abschluß an der University of Miami und einen M.F.A.-Abschluß an der University of Florida. Er erhielt zahlreiche Auszeichnungen, darunter den A.S.B.D.A. Volkwein Award für Komposition, den Stanbury Award für seine Lehrtätigkeit und zehnmal den ASCAP "Standard Award" für seine kompositorischen Beiträge zum Sinfonie- und Konzertrepertoire. Einige seiner Kompositionen sind auf der kürzlich erschienenen CD mit dem Titel IMAGES: the Music of Robert Sheldon zu hören.
