CD MP3 "Green Hornet" (New Music for Concert Band 2011-2012)
Holmenkollmarch / Holmenkollmarsj Allan Johanson / Arr. Idar Torskangerpoll
Serie / Series: Marching Band
The Holmenkollen March was written in 1918 by Allan Johanson after his first visit to a ski jumping competition in the hill named Holmenkollen. He felt that such a magnificent arrangement needed its own march. The march is dedicated to the then Crown Prince Olav, who later participated in the ski jumping competition in Holmenkollen both in 1922 and 1923. This new arrangement of the march is written in connection with the Nordic World Ski Championships held in Oslo in 2011. This arrangement is the first one written for modern concert band instrumentation. Also published for brass band (item no. 9790261701532).
