ABOUT THE COMPOSER
Barry Ward (b. 1952) began teaching band in 1977 in the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia Schools. Barry presently serves as Supervisor of Instrumental Music in the Arlington (VA) Diocese Schools. his elementary/middle schools include All Saints, St. Leo's, St. Thomas More, and St. Bernadette's and these bands have a combined total enrollment of over 500 students.

Barry performed professionally on clarinet for more than twenty years with the Arlington Symphony Orchestra (Arlington Philharmonic), conducted by Maestro Rubin Vartanyan.

Mr. Ward has recently published several educational articles and is a contributing author of The Music Director's Cookbook. His education includes a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Master of Music degree in Woodwind Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi and additional studies in Musicology from the Catholic University of America.
