One of the most beloved of orchestral works, Smetana's "The Moldau" is a heartfelt symphonic poem that paints idyllic images of Bohemia, the composer's homeland. Originally transcribed by Cacavas in the mid-60's at the Medium level, his arrangement remained popular with better bands for years. This wonderful revision by Mark Rogers is a symphonic treasure for upper level bands. Many of the more difficult passages which were simplified in the earlier version have been restored, and some sections of Smetana's original which had been omitted are now included. The result is a great piece of orchestral literature for the wind band!
