These songs were originally written for unaccompanied chorus. Later an orchestral accompaniment was added, and a piano reduction has been included for rehearsal purposes when preparing the choir for a performance with the orchestra. It is the composer's intention that performances should take place either a cappella or with orchestra, but not with piano.

Ces chants étaient primitivement écrits pour choeur a cappella. Par la suite on y ajouta un accompagnement d'orchestre. La réduction pour piano est destinée aux répétitions en vue de préparer le choeur à une exécution avec orchestre. Le voeu du compositeur est que ces choeurs soient exécutés soit a cappella, soit avec orchestre, mais jamais avec piano.
