The fiddle primer is not a violin tutor but is meant to supplement violin instruction. It is intended for beginners aged 8 - 12 but could also be used for younger pupils. Numerous photos and exercises introduce and exemplify fingering and positioning of the hand. Apart from strengthening the fingers and training their independency from one another, horizontal agility and its systematic training is another central subject.
