Weber's chamber music work has never attracted much attention. It is his operas which are the focus of attention, namely the Freischütz, his most famous and popular work. Aufforderung zum Tanz was composed in 1819 and originally arranged for the piano. This is the most famous one among his piano works and it reflects Weber's attraction to dance music. However, the Aufforderung is a real concertant piece of music and it is highly appreciated and praised as such. Hector Berlioz created an orchestra version in which flute and violoncello take over leading parts. Inspired by this adaptation, Kurt Walther arranged this edition for flute, violoncello and piano. Klaus Holle carefully supervised and published Walther's manuscript, turning it into a delightful version which enriches the chamber music repertoire.

On attache normalement peu d'importance à la musique pour le piano et à la musique de chambre de Weber. Ce sont plutôt ses opéras et ici la popularité et le succès du Freischütz qui se trouvent au centre de l'attention. Weber composa la Aufforderung zum Tanz (Invitation à la danse) en 1819 pour le piano. Son ?uvre pour piano la plus connue témoigne de son affection pour la musique de danse. Bien entendu, il s'agit ici de musique concertante issue du génie de la valse et de sa joie de vivre. Hector Berlioz réalisa une géniale version orchestrale dans laquelle la flûte et le violoncelle assument des rôles particuliers. Inspiré part cette adaptation, Kurt Walther a arrangé la présente version pour flûte, violoncelle et piano qui a été publiée par Klaus Holle. Le produit est une version attrayante qui constitue un enrichissement du répertoire de la musique de chambre.
