Tribute Carl Strommen

From the broad opening, through the spritely woodwind writing of the main allegro (Lightly and playfully), to low the brass chorale (accompanied by snare drum), Carl Strommen exploits the capabilities of the ensemble with great skill and evident enthusiasm. The careful contrasts of sonorities and occasional use of mixed meters and syncopation will give the ensemble a chance to test its mettle in a piece of real music substance.
