Solar Storm

Solar Storm David Marlatt

A solar storm (or solar flare) is a large explosion in the Sun's atmosphere releasing massive amounts of energy. This shifty, rhythmic piece is colorful and bold with great material in all sections. It is split into our main sections (Sunspots, Ode to Helios, The Carrington Event, and Aurora Borealis), each with its own character. The chant-like Ode to Helios features the band singing a chant, creating a haunting mood before returning to more energetic and heroic sections. Fun to play, exciting to hear! (8:20)
