Wir leben in einer schnelllebigen, modernen Welt. Viele der Situationen, in denen wir
zusammenarbeiten, und selbst die technologischen Werkzeuge, die wir verwenden,
müssen miteinander «synchronisiert» sein. Beide Konzepte werden in diesem Musikstück
dargestellt. Das Stück beginnt mit einem Ostinato mit den Cornets und dem Xylophon,
das metronomische Präzision erfordert. Diese Eröffnungsdurchgänge sind in vertikalen
Linien zu sehen, wo eine perfekte Synchronisation angestrebt wird. Die Musik geht
dann in Takt 117 über, wo sie sich in einen lyrischeren Stil bewegt, um die menschlichere
Seite des Synchronseins wiederzugeben. An dieser Stelle ist eine linearere, horizontalere
Interpretation der Musik erforderlich. Die Suche nach Form und Ausdruck innerhalb
der Soli bei Takt 125 und 141 wird die Präsentation der Band erheblich bereichern. Die
Unterstützung durch das begleitende Ensemble muss sowohl solide als auch mitfühlend
sein für die Melodie. Die Musik nimmt eine andere Form an ab Takt 184, wo Klangausgleich
und stilistische Interpretation in der gesamten Formation völlig im Einklang sein müssen.
Die erweiterte Kaskade ab Takt 200 nimmt die Musik in eine freie Form bei Takt 211 auf,
wo es die Freiheit gibt, ein künstlerisches Bild der Synchronisation durch die notierten
Akkorde und Dynamiken zu erzeugen. Nach der Wiederholung und dem Übergang in Takt
240 muss dieser Abschnitt stilistisch breit und großartig sein. Ab Takt 262 bis zum Schluss
bietet sich dann die Gelegenheit, ein spannendes Finale zu gestalten, in dem die Band das
Publikum mit einem mitreißenden Schluss begeistern kann.



We live in a fast-paced, modern world. Many of the the situations we collaborate on and
even the technological tools that we use need to be ‹in sync› with each other. This piece of
music portrays both of these concepts. The commencement of the music sees an ostinato
from the Cornets and Xylophone that will require metronomic precision. These opening
passages of the piece need to be seen in vertical lines where perfect synchronisation is
to be aimed for. The music then transcends into bar 117 where it then moves into a more
lyrical style to reflect the more human side of being in sync. The requirement at this point
is for a more linear, horizontal interpretation of the music. Finding shape and expression
within the solos at bar 125 and 141 will add significant quality to the band›s presentation.
Support from the accompanying ensemble will need to be both solid and sympathetic
to the melody. The music takes a different form from bar 184 where balance and stylistic
interpretation will need to be completely in sync throughout the group. The extended
cascade from bar 200 takes the music into a free form at bar 211 where there is freedom
to create an artistic picture of synchronisation through the chords and dynamics that are
provided. Following the repeat and transition into bar 240, this section needs to be broad
and grand in its style. Bar 262 to the end is then an opportunity to provide a thrilling finale
where the band can excite the audience in a rousing conclusion.
