Fiesta Tonada is a spirited Latin-infused concert work that alternates between 6/8 and 3/4 time signatures, tossing melodies and motives freely around the ensemble throughout. Using an existing Latin American folk song, slower ballad-like sections are interspersed giving each section of the ensemble the opportunity to shine. After a brief development section, the work returns to the opening 6/8-3/4 feel from the beginning.
