[EN]“Candles in Advent” is a beautiful melody with great lyrics. It was originally written for an Norwegian Advent TV-series in 1985.

In this arrangement, the oboe has some solo passages (cue notes in flute). I Have tried to vary the instrumentation without going beyond the beautiful Christmas mood.
The harmonization is simple and functional. Let the soloists “speak” with good phrasing and focus also on harmony in the unison melody lines. Good balance and intonation in the accompaniment can make the performance a little gem on the Christmas concert.

[NO]«Tenn Lys» er en nydelig melodi, med en flott tekst. Den ble i sin tid brukt i den populære TV-serien Portveien 2, og er bl.a. spilt inn med Eli Rygg og Terje Strømdahl.

Jeg har i dette arrangementet lagt noen solopassasjer i obo (med stikknoter i fløyte), og har prøvd å variere instrumentasjonen uten å komme i veien for en nydelig julestemning. Harmoniseringen er enkel og funksjonabel. La solistene få ‘snakke’ med god frasering og jobb gjerne med samklangen i de unisone melodilinjene. God balanse og intonasjon i komp-elementene kan gjøre fremførelsen til en liten perle på julekonserten.
