Baghira - Sax Alt-Banda Ferrer Ferran
This work pays homage to the Guardian Angel that guides us throughout our lives, represented by Baghira, Black Panther inseparable caring for the lost child of the Jungle Book Mowgli. Ferran Ferrer, Valencian composer, composed this piece in 2000 to enrich the limited repertoire of Spanish saxophone elementary / middle level.
It is a three-movement Sonatina without interruption.
I. Allegro Moderato (c. 1 to 47) This is the presentation of the Jungle where all the wild animals and a boy named Mowgli that appears in this and is found by Baghira Black Panther, who will be responsible for educating are , caring and guiding in this world so green.
After two bars of introduction that sets the piano, saxophone theme presents 12 measures divided into 2 semiphrases, the 1st and 2nd most expressive rhythm. From c. 15 piano repeats the theme being interrupted by the saxophone in the c. 21que takes a small development (c. 24 to 30) on a subsection of sixteenth to take us to the recapitulation in the subdominant tone. Of c. 41 to 47 is the Coda that leads us to the 2nd mov.
Adagio II (Lullaby) (c. 48 to 74). The sweet melody makes Mowgli relax and sleep, being Baghira who after a hard day in the jungle way Nana sings.
In tone Mib M. (actual sounds) and Do M. for the saxophone. After 2 bars of Intro. saxophone gives the theme (c. 50 to 57), restating the theme piano in key of C M. (The M. for the saxophone) and dialogue in the form of counterpoint (c. 58 to 67), repeat the last measure topic (c. 68) and Coda suspension to give the feeling of sleeping in the Cradle.
III Allegro Vivo (c. 75 to 128). Baghira called Mowgli at dawn. This wakes up and is the day in the city of his monkey friends will flutter and play with them.
Intr. as Cadence, made on the head of the 1st issue of Sec. (c. 75 to 79) gives reference to the call of the Angel. After Intr. two sections are present, the 1st rhythm (c. 80 to 97) and the second melody (c. 98 to 113).
1st Sec. 8 bars Topic (. C 82 to 89) for saxophone and piano response within 8 (. C 90 to 97) here the saxophone takes a counterpoint to the melody.
2nd Sec. Phrase of 8 bars spread in dialogue by both instruments in the key of G major (Mi M for Saxophone) (c 98 to 105.) Repeating over 8 bars in the main tone (c 106 to 113.) . Recapitulation of 1st sec. (c. 114 to 121) and Coda (c. 122 to 128).
