The Belgian piano virtuoso and composer François Glorieux (Kortrijk, 1932) has had a long international career as a concert pianist and conductor. As composer and arranger he worked, among others, with Stan Kenton and with the famous London brass ensemble 'Locke Brass Consort'. With that ensemble as well as with his own orchestra The François Glorieux Brass and Percussion Orchestra', he recorded many of his own compositions. His pupil trumpeter Paul Voet wrote an arrangement for brass band of these 'travel memories'. This is really a most fine original concert piece for brass band.

Le pianiste virtuose et compositeur belge François Glorieux (Kortrijk, 1932) a connu une carrière internationale de concertiste et de chef d'orchestre. En tant que compositeur et arrangeur il a travaillé notamment avec Stan Kenton et avec l'ensemble de cuivres londonien 'Locke Brass Consort'. Il a enregistré plusieurs de ses compositions avec cet ensemble renommé, mais également avec son propre orchestre The François Glorieux Brass and Percussion Orchestra'. Le trompettiste Paul Voet, ancien élève de Glorieux, a écrit un arrangement pour brass band des 'souvenirs de voyage'. Un très beau morceau de concert original.

De Belgische pianovirtuoos en componist François Glorieux (Kortrijk, 1932) heeft een lange internationale loopbaan als concertpianist achter de rug. Als componist en arrangeur werkte hij o.m. met Stan Kenton en met het Londense koperensemble 'Locke Brass Consort'. Met dit laatste ensemble nam hij diverse van zijn composities op. Hij maakte ook heel wat opnames met zijn The François Glorieux Brass and Percussion Orchestra'. Zijn leerling, de Gentse trompettist Paul Voet maakte een arrangement voor brass band van deze reisherinneringen. Werkelijk een mooi en origineel concertwerk.
