With this work Schönfeld won the 1986 competition for New Music for Wind Bands organised by the European Broadcasting Union. He is currently playing the saxophone in the Berlin Police Band. As the name suggests, this is a piece written in the Latin Mood with a lot of percussion and several changes in rhythm. You van enjoy two types of cha cha cha and the work ends with a compelling samba.

Avec cette uvre, le compositeur allemand Schönfeld obtint en 1986 le Premier Prix du Concours de Composition 'Nouvelles uvres pour Orchestres à Vents' organisé par l'Union Européenne des Radios' (ERU). Schönfeld fait partie de l'Orchestre d'Harmonie de la Police de Berlin en tant que saxophoniste. Comme le titre le suggère, ce morceau est écrit dans le style typique des danses latino-américaines avec pas mal de percussion et plusieurs changements de rythme. Vous découvrez d'abord deux types de cha-cha-cha et le tout se termine par une samba endiablée.

Met dit werk behaalde de Duitse componist Friedhelm Schönfeld in 1986 de Eerste Prijs van de compositiewedstrijd 'Nieuwe Muziek voor Blaasorkest' uitgeschreven door de Europese Radio Unie (ERU). Schönfeld speelt thans saxofoon in het Harmonieorkest van de Berlijnse Politie. Zoals de titel suggereert is dit een stuk in Latijnsamerikaanse stijl met pittige slagwerkpartituur en diverse ritmewisselingen. Zo kunt u eerst van twee verschillende cha-cha-cha's genieten alvorens u door een wervelende samba te laten meeslepen.
