This concert march describes a town in the middle ages which is attacked by enemies. The citizens, helped by the fortress` soldiers suffer losses, but manage to win the battle.
The march starts off with a fanfare, after which the main theme is presented by the clarinets. This theme arrives in different variations separated by new fanfares, until the victory is celebrated and the main theme changes from minor to major mode.

[NO]Denne konsertmarsjen beskriver en middelalderby som blir truet og angrepet av fiender. Innbyggerne med sine soldater lider tap, men går seirende ut av kampen.
Marsjen starter med en fanfare etterfulgt av hovedtemaet presentert av klarinettene. Dette temaet kommer i ulike variasjoner avbrutt av nye fanfarer, inntil seieren markeres i siste variasjon hvor hovedtemaet har skiftet fra moll til dur.
