Das Chrzaszcz-Trio wurde im Sommer 1986 für Kollegen der Cambridge University komponiert und in Warschau im gleichen Jahr uraufgeführt. Das polnische Wort Chrzascz (sprich etwa: chschonschtsch) bedeutet Heuschrecke und wurde wegen der springenden Intervalle und der abrupten rhythmischen Gesten der Komposition gewählt. The Chrzaszcz-Trio was composed in the summer of 1986 for colleagues of Cambridge University and premiered in Warsaw in the same year. The Polish word ?Chrzascz? (pronounced: ?shonshtsh?) means grasshopper and was chosen as a title due to the wide leaping intervals and the abrupt rhythmical gestures present in the work (quoted from the preface). This composition is short and not too difficult to realize.

Le Trio Chrzaszcz a été composé durant l'été 1986 pour des collègues de la Cambridge University et a été créé la même année à Varsovie. Le mot polonais Chrzaszcz signifie sauterelle et a été choisi en raison des sauts d'intervalle et des gestes rythmiquement abrupts de la composition. Une ?uvre courte qui n'est pas trop difficile à réaliser.
