I Vow to Thee, My Country (The Planets) Gustav Holst / Arr. Ray Steadman-Allen

[EN]Gustav Holst's orchestral suite The Planets is perhaps his best known and most popular composition. The theme in the central section of the movement Jupiter was adapted by the composer himself to fit the words of the song and has subsequently found its way into use as a hymn tune under the title Thaxted (named after the Essex town where the composer lived).
[DE]Gustav Holsts Orchestersuite Die Planeten ist vielleicht seine bekannteste und beliebteste Komposition. Das Thema im zentralen Teil des Satzes Jupiter wurden vom Komponisten selbst an die Worte des Liedes angepasst und hat sich später als Hymnenmelodie unter dem Titel Thaxted (benannt nach der Stadt Essex, in der der Komponist lebte) durchgesetzt.
