The Wings of Garuda Hayato Hirose
Garuda is a mythical sacred bird with a human body, an eagle's head, wings, and claws. Its body shines golden yellow, and it flies through the sky with fiery red wings, catching snakes with its sharp claws.
Garuda, who appears in Indian mythology, spread to various countries in Asia, especially in Indonesia, where it is said to have been introduced around the 1st century, where it has become a symbol of the country and is widely known by the people as ``Garuda.'' . When the composer visited Bali, Indonesia, he saw Garuda being worshiped everywhere in the city, as a motif in folk dances, paintings, sculptures, buildings, stone statues, etc. Inspired.
This piece was composed based on the following myth of Garuda.
[ Furioso ] Garuda's fierce and glittering appearance is expressed.
[ Andante ] It depicts how her mother fell into a trap and became a slave to the Nagas.
[ Andante misterioso ] Garuda goes on her long journey in search of Amrita, the elixir of immortality.
[ Vivo ] Evade various attacks from the guards in the heavenly world and obtain Amrita.
[ Andante ] Meet Vishnu, one of the Indian gods. Vishnu is moved by Garuda's courage and grants him immortality without the use of amrita.
[ Vivo ] Once again, India's strongest god Indra attacks Garuda, but he does not give in and forms a friendship with Garuda.
[ Finale ] Her mother is freed from the Naga tribe, and the middle song of the grand finale comes to a close.
There are many optional instruments, and a minimum of 11 people can perform, but even if you play with a medium or large group, the performance will be impressive. The performance grade is about 4, but the second and third parts of each part are easy in range and technically, and are written with a thick orchestration, so even if the experience of the performers varies, the sound is stable. will be obtained. The percussion instruments are written in five parts, but can be played by a minimum of two people. (If the number of percussion instruments is small, Perc. 1, 2, and 3 can be played by one person using a drum set.)
