Der Titel bezeichnet ursprünglich eine griechische Süßspeise, die, wie der Autor schreibt, süß, nahrhaft und von orientalischer Schwere ist. Diesen Eindruck versucht er in den langsamen Teilen der dreiteiligen Komposition durch dichte Klangteppiche zu erreichen. Kontrastiert werden diese Abschnitt durch rasche, lebhafte Teile, die sich wiederum durch ungerade Taktarten und synkopierte rhythmische Strukturen folkloristisch gefärbt geben.

The title originally refers to a Greek dessert which - according to the author - is sweet, nutritious and of oriental richness. He tries to achieve this impression within the slow parts of the three-part composition by creating thick carpets of sound. Contrasting to these sections are the quick, lively ones which in their turn convey a touch of folk music due to their odd metres and syncopated rhythmic structures.

Galacto Burico est le nom d'une pâtisserie grecque, très sucrée, très nourissante, pleine de lourdeur orientale. La composition en trois mouvements essaie d'atteindre cet état dans les parties lentes, dans les épais tapis sonores. Celles-ci sont contrastées par les parties rapides et vivantes, caractérisées par des mesures impaires et des structures rythmiques syncopées d'un coloris folklorique.
