War and Peace was commissioned 2021 by The Royal Swedish Navy Band and conductor Alexander Hanson to mark the celebration of The Svea Life Guards' 500th anniversary.

I. Fanfares and Battle opens in a heroic and optimistic nature but changes abruptly as the medieval hymn Dies Irae, Day of Wrath, brakes in. The battle commences. The movement ends with a recap of the opening part.
II. In memoriam is a funeral march in memory of war victims and suffering people.
III. Peace and Rejoice pictures soldiers and people celebrating that the war is over. The music reflects an atmosphere of dignity, optimism and joy for life.

[NO]War and Peace beställdes 2021 för att högtidlighålla Svea Livgardes 500-årsjubileum. Verket är komponerat för Marinens Musikkår och dess dirigent Alexander Hanson.

I. Fanfares and Battle börjar i en heroisk och optimistisk anda men byter karaktär då den medeltida hymnmelodin Dies irae (latin för Vredens dag) bryter in med full kraft. Striden tar vid. Satsen avslutas med en återtagning av den inledande delen.
II. In memoriam är en sorgmarsch till minne av folk som fallit offer för krig.
III. Peace and Rejoice. Soldater och civila firar att kriget är över. Musikens tempo är lugnt och värdigt och en känsla av optimism och livsglädje avslutar verket.
