This new work for concert band presents a Bach chorale melody transcribed literally, followed by three variations of that theme. The first variation is a baroque-styled rendition balancing brass to woodwind choirs, the second is a slow adagio, and the final variation is a straight-forward full chorale using the original harmonization. A powerful and vibrant presentation.

Dieses neue Werk für Concert Band präsentiert eine wörtlich transkribierte Bach-Choralmelodie, gefolgt von drei Variationen dieses Themas. Die erste Variation ist eine barocke Wiedergabe, bei der Blechbläser- und Holzbläserchöre ausgeglichen werden, die zweite ist ein langsames Adagio, und die letzte Variation ist ein geradliniger, vollständiger Choral unter Verwendung der ursprünglichen Harmonisierung.
