Sonata C major BWV 1033

This sonata is quite mysterious. It was composed around 1736 and has been handed down in the form of a copy made by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. Johann Sebastian Bach's authorship has been contested repeatedly. Indeed, examinations of style let us assume that the sonata is rather a work that was written by an unknown composer and arranged by J.S. Bach. It is possible, however, that the 'unknown composer' was his son, Carl Philipp Emanuel. A separate part for alto recorders is included in this edition.

Sonate en ut majeur BWV 1033

La présente sonate fut composée vers 1736 et nous est parvenue par une copie de Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. L'authenticité de l'?uvre a été remise en question à plusieurs reprises. En effet, les analyses stylistiques laissent supposer qu'il s'agit plutôt de l'adaptation par J. S. Bach de l'?uvre d'un compositeur inconnu, peut-être de son fils Carl Philipp Emanuel. Une partie séparée pour flûte à bec alto est incluse.
