[EN]The Hungarian Dances (Ungarische Tänze), evoking directly the warm blood of Hungarian gypsy music, consist of 21 dances, originally composed for piano four hands. The 5th dance is probably the most celebrated of the set. In fact it was based on the csárdás by Kéler Béla titled Bártfai emlék which Brahms mistakenly thought was a traditional folksong.

[DE]Die Ungarischen Tänze, die direkt an das warme Blut der ungarischen Zigeunermusik erinnern, bestehen aus 21 Tänzen, die ursprünglich für Klavier vierhändig komponiert wurden. Der 5. Tanz ist wahrscheinlich der berühmteste des Sets. Tatsächlich basierte es auf den Csárdás von Kéler Béla mit dem Titel Bártfai emlék, die Brahms fälschlicherweise für ein traditionelles Volkslied hielt.
