Warsaw Concerto José Miguel Fayos-Jordán

The present work is intended as a tribute to the great Polish composer W. Lutoslawski. Hence its title; "Warsaw Concerto" (the composer's native city).

Formally, the work is conceived as a Concerto for symphonic band, where each movement pays its own particular homage to a compositional stage of Lutoslawski's creative corpus. Following this idea, throughout the work we find various techniques and processes commonly used by the composer, such as the use of Polish folk melodies, use of dodecaphonism and serialism, chordal constructions by structured superposition of thirds, use of the cluster as an element generating textures, processes of counterbalanced randomness, use of the "Chain form", etc.

[DE]Das vorliegende Werk ist als eine Hommage an den großen polnischen Komponisten W. Lutoslawski gedacht. Daher auch der Titel: "Warschauer Konzert" (die Geburtsstadt des Komponisten).

Formal ist das Werk als Konzert für symphonisches Orchester konzipiert, wobei jeder Satz eine besondere Hommage an eine Kompositionsphase in Lutoslawskis Schaffen darstellt. Dieser Idee folgend finden wir im gesamten Werk verschiedene Techniken und Verfahren, die der Komponist häufig verwendet hat, wie z. B. die Verwendung polnischer Volksmelodien, die Verwendung von Dodekaphonismus und Serialismus, akkordische Konstruktionen durch strukturierte Überlagerung von Terzen, die Verwendung des Clusters als Element zur Erzeugung von Texturen, Verfahren der gegensätzlichen Zufälligkeit, die Verwendung der "Kettenform", usw.
