This lyrical and reflective ballad from Joshua Hinkel reminds us that inspiration can come at the strangest times and usually when we aren’t looking for it. Now available for flexible wind band, the beautiful lyricism of "Moonlit Dreams" can be experienced by ensembles everywhere!
Sometimes inspiration comes to us at the strangest of times and usually when we are not looking for it. This piece is the story of finding such inspiration on one summer evening.

The weather is perfect and a young person is found sitting on top of a beautiful hillside. As the most amazing full moon lights the night sky, the calmness in the air brings forth a most incredible feeling of peace and contentment. This beautiful scene inspires this person to dream about all the wonderful possibilities in their life: the places they will visit, people they will meet, and goals they will accomplish.

"Moonlit Dreams" was commissioned by the Consortium for High Quality Band Literature and includes the following bands:

ABOUT THE SERIES
The SpectraFlex Series for adaptable wind band offers flexibility with pieces across all grade levels, featuring traditional high-to-low scoring with 5 or 6 parts and optional percussion. Each part is transposed and playable by a multitude of wind or keyboard percussion instruments while maintaining the spectrum of sound we have grown to love about the wind band.
