Richard Trunk (1879-1968) was best known for his songs. Mother, while I was by the brook busy, based on a poem of his contemporary Margarete Beutler (1876-1949), was set in music of the esthete Trunk in 1927. On record, it was inter alia sung by the great Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.
