The series Fingerstyle: pop, rock, jazz and Latin for Guitar offers original pieces and arrangements for one or two guitars. In standard notation with extensive fingering and accurate stylistic notes, these volumes should inspire pleasure and passion in new music for guitar. The guitar arrangement of this piano composition interprets the left hand piano accompaniment freely, reflecting the Latin American guitar tradition. Among other features, the second guitar plays a drumbeat rhythm which is similar to the Venezuelan Joropo in parts D and G. Louis Moreau Gottschalk (1829-1869) was an American pianist and composer of French origin. Influenced by stays in the Caribbean and in South-America, his virtuoso salon music from that period has a timeless fascination. Michael Langer and Sabine Ramusch have recorded this arrangement on their CD Guitar & Passion.
