The fact that composer, Meindert Boekel is an emotional person is rather clear when listening to this composition. He wrote this work after a period in his private life when things had not gone well. Eventually his life started to get better, and with this new life energy he wrote 'Spirit of Life'.

Il écrivait cet uvre après une période ou ça n'allait pas très bien dans sa vie privée, quand il avait l'impression qu'il commençait à remonter la pente. Avec cette nouvelle énergie vitale il écrivait Spirit of Life'.

Dat Meindert Boekel een gevoelsmens was wordt duidelijk in deze compositie. Hij schreef dit werk toen hij, na een periode waarin het niet goed ging in zijn privé leven, het gevoel had dat het weer bergopwaarts ging. Met die nieuwe levensenergie schreef hij Spirit of Life.
