In 1916, Norway established a new order whereunder the Army was divided into divisions instead of brigades. A new central command was naturally established, and the band of the 1st Brigade now became the Divisional Music Corps. Borg wrote this march in honor in the new centcom.

[NO]Denne konsertmarsjen ble skrevet i 1916 i forbindelse med en omstrukturering i det norske Forsvaret. Dette året ble nemlig Hæren reorganisert og inndelt i divisjoner istedenfor brigader. En ny generalstab ble naturlig nok opprettet og korpset som tidligere tilhørte 1ste brigade ble nå et divisjonsmusikkorps. Oscar Borg skrev Generalstabens Honnørmarsj til denne reorganiseringen.
