[EN]This Wind Band orchestration of Wilby's Paganini Variations attempts to capture the range of colour and expression of the original. There are opportunities abound for every member of the wind orchestra to play a convincing role in the drama. The intention of the Brass Band work was to use more of Paganini than his time honoured melody (from his twenty-fourth Caprice with a set of fourteen variations), but would also attempt to recreate in modern terms something of the wild and romantic spirit of the times.
