Dr. J (Pi) Scheffer war in den 50er Jahren Leiter der bekannte AVRO Rundfunk Big Band The Skymasters'. Er war auch Englischlehrer. Seine Komposition für Blasorchester Three Inventions' war hier, wie auch in den U.S.A, ein Riesenerfolg. Als das Stück 1971 erschien, gab es noch keine Werbung mit Cd oder anderen Tonträgern. Deshalb präsentiert Molenaar Edition dieses Werk nochmals, diesmal die komplette Partitur in der Serie Creative Compositions ©'. Das werk hat drei Teile, Flippant'(frisch), Whimsical'(Bizarr) und Sorta Mixed Up'(mehrere Stile durcheinander). Der Recenzent des amerikanischen Magazins The School Musician' hat Scheffer sogar mit Leonard Bernstein verglichen.

Dr. J (Pi) Scheffer was the leader of the famous Dutch AVRO Radio Big Band The Skymasters' in the 50's, as well as also being an English teacher. He also had a huge success with his composition for wind band Three Inventions', not only in Europe but also in the USA. At the time of publication (1971) there was no promotion with sound sample of this work, so for this reason now Molenaar Edition has a complete new score and parts available in their Creative Compositions' © series. The work is in the movements. Flippant', Whimsical' and Sorta Mixed Up'. A recent edition of the American magazine publication The School Musician' even compared Scheffer with Leonard Bernstein.

En 1971, ses uvres ont été publiées sans CD, et c'est pour cette raison que les Editions Molenaar nous offrent aujourd'hui une partition complète dans leur collection « Creative Compositions » ©. Cette pièce est en 3 mouvements : « Flippant », « Whimsical » et « Sorta mixed up ».Une édition récente du magazine Americain « The school musician » a même comparé Scheffer à Léonard Bernstein.

Het werk heeft drie delen Flippant'(luchthartig), Whimsical' (grilllig) en Sorta Mixed up'(een beetje van alles door elkaar. De recensent van het Amerikaanse blad The School Musician' vergeleek Scheffer zelfs met Leonard Bernstein.
