Dr. J (Pi) Scheffer was in de vijftiger jaren leider van de fameuze AVRO radio Big Band ‘The Skymasters'. Daarnaast was hij leraar Engels. Zijn composities voor blaasorkest, Three Inventions'was een gigantisch succes. Ook in de U.S.A. In de tijd van uitgave (1971) was er nog geen promotie met behulp van geluidsdrager. Daarom brengt Molenaar Edition dit werk opnieuw uit, dit maal met complete partituur in de serie ‘Creative Compositions ©. Het werk heeft drie delen ‘Flippant'(luchthartig), ‘Whimsical' (grilllig) en ‘Sorta Mixed up'(een beetje van alles door elkaar. De recensent van het Amerikaanse blad ‘The School Musician' vergeleek Scheffer zelfs met Leonard Bernstein.

Dr. J (Pi) Scheffer was the leader of the famous Dutch AVRO Radio Big Band ‘The Skymasters' in the 50's, as well as also being an English teacher. He also had a huge success with his composition for wind band ‘Three Inventions', not only in Europe but also in the USA. At the time of publication (1971) there was no promotion with sound sample of this work, so for this reason now Molenaar Edition has a complete new score and parts available in their ‘Creative Compositions' © series. The work is in the movements. ‘Flippant', ‘Whimsical' and ‘Sorta Mixed Up'. A recent edition of the American magazine publication ‘The School Musician' even compared Scheffer with Leonard Bernstein.

Il a également eu un immense succès, en Europe ainsi qu'aux USA, avec sa composition pour Big Band « Three inventions ». En 1971, ses œuvres ont été publiées sans CD, et c'est pour cette raison que les Editions Molenaar nous offrent aujourd'hui une partition complète dans leur collection « Creative Compositions » ©. Cette pièce est en 3 mouvements : « Flippant », « Whimsical » et « Sorta mixed up ».Une édition récente du magazine Americain « The school musician » a même comparé Scheffer à Léonard Bernstein.

Seine Komposition für Blasorchester „Three Inventions' war hier, wie auch in den U.S.A, ein Riesenerfolg. Als das Stück 1971 erschien, gab es noch keine Werbung mit Cd oder anderen Tonträgern. Deshalb präsentiert Molenaar Edition dieses Werk nochmals, diesmal die komplette Partitur in der Serie „Creative Compositions ©'. Das werk hat drei Teile, „Flippant'(frisch), „Whimsical'(Bizarr) und „Sorta Mixed Up'(mehrere Stile durcheinander). Der Recenzent des amerikanischen Magazins „The School Musician' hat Scheffer sogar mit Leonard Bernstein verglichen.
