INTRADA Ein' Feste Burg Ray Farr

[EN]INTRADA is based on the Chorale ‘Ein’ Feste Burg’ (A Safe Stronghold) by Martin Luther, from Psalm 46 (written in 1524). The song became the battle song of the Reformation and this setting contrasts the piety of the choral with modern rhythms and harmonies in a dramatic presentation.
Three groups of antiphonal trumpets proclaim noble fanfares based on thematic ideas, trombones pay homage to an earlier age of church sackbut music, and percussion threaten imminent battle.

[NO]INTRADA er basert på koralen “Ein’ Feste Burg” av Martin Luther fra salme nr. 46, skrevet i 1524. Denne koralen ble selve kampsangen ved reformasjonen og denne utgaven viser fromheten i koralen, men i ny drakt med moderne rytmer og harmonier og et dramatisk uttrykk.
Tre grupper av trompeter proklamerer fanfarer basert på tematiske ideer, trombonene hyller tidligere tiders kirkemusikk mens slagverket indikerer forestående kamper og dramatikk….
