A series of extremely successful musicals followed, such as 'South Pacific', 'The King and I' and 'The Sound of Music'. With his usual skill and talent, Peter Kleine Schaars made this fine wind band arrangement of the famous song 'It might as well be spring' from the film 'State Fair' (1962), a musical comedy by José Ferrer starring Pat Boone.

In de geschiedenis van de Amerikaanse musical speelt het duo Richard Rodgers en Oscar Hammerstein II een vooraanstaande rol.
