Ceremonial for Concert Band Stig Nordhagen

[EN]The new theatre- and concert hall Kilden was inaugurated in 2012 in the Norwegian city of Kristiansand. A part of the inauguration was one week of Music Festival who also included amateurs in bands, choirs and folk music.

One of the days of the opening week was devoted to the bands in the city of Kristiansand. On this day, all bands in the city performed “Ceremonial” on stage at Kilden for the performance.

“Ceremonial” was commissioned by Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra with support from Art Council Norway.

[NO]Da Kilden teater- og konserthus i Kristiansand (www.kilden.com) åpnet dørene i januar 2012, var en del av åpningen en uke med musikkfest.
Det var bla folkemusikk -kor og korpsdag. Til vanlig er jeg soloklarinettist i Kristiansand symfoniorkester, og det var i konsertsalen hvor jeg jobber til daglig, at dette stykket ble spilt første gang.

Som avslutning på korpsdagen samlet alle byens korps seg på scenen og framførte «Ceremonial».
Stykket er skrevet på bestilling fra Kristiansand symfoniorkester med støtte fra Norsk kulturråd.
