The Dutch composer and conductor Ton Kotter (Aalten 1906 -1991) was trumpeter-violinist with the Royal Marine Band before being appointed conductor of the Nijmegen Police Band. He conducted a lot of amateur wind bands (a.o. in Helmond, Nijmegen, Tilburg, Hilvarenbeek, Glanerbrug, Enschede and Loon op Zand) and for these bands he wrote several fine marches. Among his best-known marches are 'Hunter March' (1976) and 'Ambiorix' (1976). 'All-In', probably his last march, was composed in 1981 for the 70th anniversary of the symphonic band 'Excelsior' at Eibergen, conducted by the composer.

Le compositeur et chef d'orchestre néerlandais Ton Kotter (Aalten 1906-1991) fut trompettiste-violoniste à la Musique Royale de La Marine, puis chef de la Musique de la Police de Nimègue. Plus tard il dirigea de nombreuses sociétés d'amateurs (entre autres à Helmond, Nimègue, Tilburg, Hilvarenbeek, Glanerbrug, Enschede et Loon-op-Zand) et c'est pour ces sociétés qu'il composa souvent des marches. Parmi les plus connues citons 'Hunter Marche' (1946) et 'Ambiorix' (1976). La marche 'All-In', apparemment sa dernière, fut composée en 1981 à l'occasion du soixante-dixième anniversaire de l'Orchestre d'Harmonie 'Excelsior' de Eibergen que le compositeur dirigea.

Zo ontstonden 'Hunter Mars' (1946) en Ambiorix (1976), om een paar hele bekende te noemen. 'All-In', waarschijnlijk zijn laatste mars, werd gecomponeerd ter gelegenheid van het zeventigjarig bestaan van het Harmonieorkest 'Excelsior' te Eibergen in 1981, waarvan hijzelf dirigent was.
