Percussion 1: 3 Temple blocks, 5 Tom-toms (2 small), Snare drum,
Bass drum (Gran Cassa), Triangle, Medium cymbal
Percussion 2: Glockenspiel, Tubular Bells, Large cymbal, Hi-hat, Metal Chimes
Percussion 3: Glockenspiel, Vibraphone, Xylophone, Large cymbal, Small cymbal,
Hi-hat, Tam tam(gong) , Triangle
Spesifications:
- All trills should span a minor second
- Con. ped. sempre used in the Vibrahone part: Keep pedal down until no sound is hearable
or other instrucions are written.

Nord for polarsirkelen finner vi et landskap som utfordrer
våre sanser og setter dype spor i oss.
Mye er skrevet og sagt om landet mot det ytterste nord -
mange myter og sagn har oppstått på grunn av
naturens utrolige tilstedeværelse.
Arktisk Landskap er en gjenspeiling av sterke naturopplevelser,
hentet fra min oppvekst på Austvågøy (Kabelvåg) i Lofoten.
Jeg lar naturen komme til uttrykk i musikken,
slik underbevisstheten tolker den-
nakent og direkte.
Takk til Karl Ole Midtbø som bestilte stykket på vegne av Forsvarets Musikkorps Vestlandet i forbindelse med 200-års jubileet september 1992.
TORSTEIN AAGAARD-NILSEN (1964)
er utdannet ved Universitetet i Bergen (matematikk) og Bergen Musikkonservatorium, der han studerte trompetspill, musikkteori/komposisjon og pedagogikk. Han har komponert profesjonelt siden slutten av 80-tallet, ved siden av undervisning, dirigering og instruksjon.

TORSTEIN AAGAARD-NILSEN (1964)
Aagaard-Nilsen is educated from the University of Bergen and Bergen
Music Conservatory. He established himself in the Bergen area by the
end of the 1980´s as a composer, arranger and conductor.
His list of works includes many compositions and arrangements for both
brass- and wind band.
