This single from Ritchie Valens from 1958 is originally a Spanish song from Mexican folklore. Years later it was picked by Rolling Stone magazine as the only non-English song in their 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list at number 345. In 1987 it was covered by the American band Los Lobos, for the film La Bamba, about the life of Ritchie Valens. This arrangement has been made for flexible setting, and is suitable for a developed student band.

Le single de Rutchie Valens de 1958 est d'origine une chanson espagnole de la folklore Mexicaine. Des années plus tard elle figurait comme seule chanson non-anglophone dans la fameuse 500 Greatest Songs of All Time du magazine Rolling Stone. En 1987 le groupe Américain Los Lobos en faisait un remake pour le film La Bamba sur la vie de Ritchie Valens. Cet arrangement a été écrit pour une formation flexible et va être beaucoup apprécié par chaque orchestre d'élèves avancé.

De single van Ritchie Valens uit 1958 is van oorsprong een Spaanstalig lied uit de Mexicaanse folklore. Jaren later werd het door Rolling Stone als enige niet-Engelstalige lied opgenomen in de lijst The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time op nr. 345. In 1987 coverde de Amerikaanse band Los Lobos La Bamba voor de gelijknamige film over het leven van Ritchie Valens. Dit arrangement werd gemaakt voor flexibele bezetting en zal door elk ontwikkeld leerlingenorkest zeer gewaardeerd worden.
