Das Schaffen des Stuttgarter Komponisten Ulrich Wedlich (*1954) erstreckt sich von avantgardistischer und experimenteller elektronischer Musik über Kammermusik und sinfonische Werke bis hin zu Pop-Arrangements. Den Schwerpunkt bildet ein umfangreiches Werk für Gitarre in verschiedenen Besetzungen. Die vorliegende dreisätzige Sonata wurde 1995 geschrieben und uraufgeführt. Melodik und Rhythmik sind der Popularmusik verbunden, während die Behandlung der formalen Kräfte sich aus klassischen Kompositionstechniken entwickelt.

The works of Stuttgart-born composer Ulrich Wedlich (*1954) range from avantgarde and experimental electronic music, chamber music and symphonies to pop arrangements. The main focus lies on extensive work for the guitar with various instrumentation. The sonata presented here which consists of three movements was composed and performed for the first time in 1995. Although melodically and rhythmically indebted to popular music, the formal properties of the work developed from the techniques of classical composition.

L'?uvre du compositeur Ulrich Wedlich (*1954) de Stuttgart va de la musique d'avant-garde et de la musique électronique expérimentale aux arrangements pop en passant par les ?uvres symphoniques et la musique de chambre. Une des dominantes est représentée par de nombreuses ?uvres pour guitare dans diverses distributions. La présente sonate en trois mouvement a été écrite et créée en 1995. Mélodique et rythmique se rattachent à la musique populaire alors que le traitement des forces formelles se déroule à partir des techniques de composition classiques.
