Die sechs Kanzonetten, im Original für drei Singstimmen und drei Bassetthörner, sind heute fast unbekannt. Bei den als Vorlage für diese Ausgabe dienenden Notturni handelt es sich um die Vertonung hübscher Texte von Metastasio und drei anonymen Gedichten - Ensemblenummern leichter Musik, die Mozart bei Hausmusikabenden im Hause Jacquin aufführte und wahrscheinlich kurz darauf selbst vergessen hatte. Da die Bassetthörner im Original fast immer colla parte mit den Singstimmen geführt werden, mußten keine Reduzierungen bei der Bearbeitung im Satz vorgenommen werden.

6 Canzonets - based on KV 346, 436-439 and 549

These six canzonets, originally written for three vocal parts and three basset horns, have fallen into oblivion. This edition is based on the Notturni, nice texts by Metastasio and three anonymous poems - ensemble titles of light music which Mozart performed on musical evenings in the house of the Jacquin family and which even he himself seems to have forgotten soon after. As the basset horns in the original nearly always go colla parte with the vocal parts, no reductions had to be made when arranging the movement.

Six canzonettes - d'après K 346, 436-439 et 549

Les Six Canzonettes, écrites originellement pour trois parties chantées et trois cors de basset, sont presque inconnues de nos jours. Les Notturni, sur lequels se base notre édition, sont des pièces sur des textes ravissants de Métastase et sur trois poésies anonymes, des numéros d'ensemble de la musique légère que Mozart interpréta lors des soirées passées dans la maison des Jacquin et qu'il oublia certainement lui-même peu après les avoir écrits. Signalons par ailleurs que les cors de basset suivent à l'unisson la partie chantée qui leur est propre.
